Welcome to ‘Queued’

For the better part of the past three years, I’ve resolved to regularly write a personal email newsletter of what I've been reading, watching, listening to and doing — documenting articles/books/movies/T.V. shows/podcasts/music/meals/places/etc. that I loved.

But true to the premise of the title of this newsletter, I’m never caught up. I’m Henry Bemis from “The Twilight Zone” (the old guy who just wants time to read) and there are simply too many things in my “queue.” And never enough time.

Will this year be different? Will I actually watch every Academy Award-winning movie? Or read a work of fiction written by a Pulitzer Prize winner or finalist every month? Will this be the year I complete the Rory Gilmore reading challenge? Or read more books by Asian authors? (These are all past and present New Year resolutions that I’ve started, abandoned, but am determined to see through.) Who knows. I’m no Taylor Swift. But if 2020 has taught me anything, New Year resolutions are overrated and it’s better to make room for rituals and self-reflection instead.

So here’s a newsletter to reflection, to gratitude, to things that make me happy, to things that I’ve managed to accomplish as well as things that still remain in my “queue.”

Sign up, tell your friends, forward me recommendations, or add this to your “queue” now to bookmark for later.
